Opinium Research has found that food and drink sponsors are benefitting the most out of their sponsorship of the Olympics, with almost half of those surveyed correctly identifying McDonalds and Coca-Cola as partners, reports The Drum.
The survey also revealed that:
- Only 10% of Brits are aware that BMW are an Olympics partner
- BP and Adidas coming bottom for awareness on the list of sponsors
- Members of the public wrongly believe that MasterCard, Virgin Atlantic, and Pepsi are sponsors
- 22% believe British Gas is a sponsor instead of EDF
- 14% believe HSBC is the sponsor over Lloyds TSB
