Who said the Conservatives were dragging us back into the 1980's?
In a sparkling move of innovation, David Cameron and George Osborne have together launched their very own Treasury "Tax-App".

According to the Drum:
The Treasury will today release a mobile phone app that can calculate how much tax an individual can expect to be liable for – and how that money will be spent.

Available from the Apple store, Google Play and the Treasury’s own website (http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/home.htm) The Drum estimates that some 20m taxpayers will receive tailored tax statements detailing their contribution to state spending by 2014/15. The announcement comes days after the launch of the new NHS app, as more businesses and services are adjusting their strategy to wield the vast reach of mobile internet.

David Gauke, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, said: "We think it is right that people know how much tax they pay and what the Government spends it on. At the moment, over half of taxpayers do not know how much income tax and National Insurance they pay in a year. Our new tax calculator will allow them to find out, which is a big step towards a more transparent, 21st century system."
