According to @gordonmacmillan on the Wall Blog, Rupert and James Murdoch have some good news at last.

In the wake of Rebekah Brooks' criminal charge of perverting the course of justice, British broadsheet the Times and Sunday Times has given an update on digital subscription numbers and claim to now have 131,000 digital subscribers across all platforms - representing a major improvement on figures it gave in February  of 119,255 digital subscribers for The Times and 113,818 for the Sunday Times.

The move to make their online content exclusive to paying subscribers was deemed a controversial one in the face of social media making news more accessible than ever before and other newspapers (both tabloid and broadsheet) still keeping their content free. However, it seems that the Times' readership has come to terms with the charge for their newspaper and figures suggest the move could yet be a pioneering one.
