Online marketplace Gumtree has announced a version of their app is coming to Android OS after reaching over one million downloads on the iPhone.



The app will appear in the Google Play store this Autumn following the massive success of Gumtree on Apple's smartphones, with the original app released last February.
Hamish Stone, head of marketing at Gumtree.com, said: “We have been blown-away by the positive response to our iPhone app. To hit one million downloads in such a short space of time is a huge achievement for Gumtree. With so many of us living our lives on-the-go, this app has allowed iPhone users to enjoy a great Gumtree search experience - no matter where they are.”

The app will remain free, and users can view a range of listings and message sellers and customers with the ease of online mobile.
