GroupM agency MediaCom has announced the retention of its second-largest UK account after winning a three-way pitch for media planning and buying.
The insurer, which encompasses brands Direct Line, Churchill and Green Flag, also invited MediaCom's sister agency MEC to pitch, as well as Aegis' Carat.
Direct Line Group instigated the competition in a reported bid to save £100m by 2014.
"We constantly review our media strategy to ensure it is appropriate
for the needs of our business" said marketing director Mark Evans.
"Following a pitch review process
involving several different agencies, we have re-appointed Mediacom as
our media partner, as we felt their proposal best met the strategic
vision for our media activity. It’s great to be able to continue our relationship and together we
will work to deliver the next exciting stage in the future of Direct
Line Group."
