WPP-owned MediaCom have announced their appointment to Coca-Cola's £30m UK media planning and buying account, replacing Denstu's Vizeum following a 12-year tenure.
As well as beating Vizeum to the account, MediaCom was selected ahead of Publicis Groupe's StarcomMediaVest and fellow WPP agency MEC.
The brief includes a multitude of Coca-Cola brands, encompassing Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Dasani, Minute Maid, Evian, Dr. Pepper and many more globally-recognised products.
Jon Woods, managing director of Coca-Cola Great Britain and Ireland, said: "After our recent media review, we can confirm that we have appointed MediaCom to oversee our media planning and buying business in the UK. The appointment will be effective from July 2013. We would like to thank Vizeum for their high quality work over the past 12 years. They have been a true, collaborative partner and we are grateful for their expertise."
