The story, cobbled from several newspapers both here and abroad, comprise of several quotes detailing the star's desire to learn a new career.
Ronaldo, 36, said in an interview with Brazil's Meio e Mensagem newspaper:
"Eighteen years have passed and I've hardly studied at all. I feel a great need to become a student again. I've learned a lot in life, travelling, living abroad, just in the school of life. But I also have to immerse myself in something.
"Learning from Martin Sorrell will be perfect. I won't leave him alone, I'll be asking him questions the whole day, just like a striker. He's going to have to tell me everything."
This unusual link comes from WPP's 2010 investment of 9ine, Ronaldo's sports marketing agency.
According to Media Week, 'the shop has worked in Brazil with clients such as GlaxoSmithKline (and) Duracell'.
Ronaldo's spokesman then confirmed Ronaldo's proposal to benefit from Sir Martin Sorrell's tutelage.
He said: 'He intends to go to England, which he will receive advice and guidance from Mr Sorrell, who's the head of the world's largest advertising company.'
In an interview with the Guardian, the WPP founder and mentor to Ronaldo, said:
"We have had a connection for a couple of years. He is a colleague and adviser on Brazil World Cup (2014) and Rio Olympics (2016). He is coming to London, we have a joint venture company and I think he will be working with that."
