Zurich Insurance Group has awarded its global integrated advertising, media and digital account to Interpublic Group after a competitive pitch. The Zurich account represents a major coup for IPG, breaking a monopoly between incumbent media group Mindshare (WPP) and Publicis Worldwide.

The Swiss financier has a brief to be handled by McCann Worldgroup, covering advertising, media and digital/interactive marketing across the world, managing the brand "efficiently and effectively".

Michael Roth, chairman and CEO of Interpublic, said: "We are honored to be selected by Zurich and to have the opportunity to contribute to their business in a meaningful way globally.

“This kind of integrated model is one that we have championed at our company, and it's a model that's tailor made for a company like Zurich."
