Thomas Cook Airlines will now offer their passengers the use of a unique in-flight chip-and-pin service when making purchases thanks to technology designed by Novo Inc, a subsidiary of the mobile computer group Belgravium Technologies.

According to the Yorkshire Post:

The deal was secured through Novo’s collaboration with ALPHA Inflight Retail, which provides sales expertise and inflight sales and EPOS (electronic point of sale) systems technology to more than 30 airlines around the world.

John Kembery, executive chairman of Belgravium Technologies, said: “We are delighted to have been able to work with ALPHA Inflight Retail in the successful installation of this system into the Thomas Cook fleet, which is an airline with one of the highest levels of retail sales in the world. It is therefore critical that their electronic point of sale (EPOS) system is robust, multifunctional and easy to use and the feedback we received from the Thomas Cook air crew in pre-launch trials was very positive and confirmed this.

“Looking forward, we will continue to develop the software adding additional features and confident that our system will be a very attractive solution to the other airlines around the world with whom we are currently talking.”
