September has been the month of redesign for the U.S search giants - first Yahoo!, then Bing. And now, Google, the biggest of them all, has unveiled a remarketed app launcher as well as a new logo.
Google, the world's most popular website - receiving approximately 15 billion visits daily - has begun rolling out their new look in an effort to promote their various other products. Featured under a new-look navigation bar, users will find easy links to the Play store, Gmail and Drive, bringing the mobile and tablet feel to the desktop.
In a blog post, Google’s tech lead Eddie Kessler write: "If you're anything
like me, you move among devices and Google products on a regular basis.
You might check Gmail on your phone, for instance, then organize your
Calendar via laptop, then browse Google+ photos from your tablet.
"Regardless
of your routine, getting around Google should be seamless, and once
you're inside an app, you don't want any distractions. So we're
introducing an updated Google bar that streamlines your experience
across products and devices."
Citing "refined the color palette and letter shapes", the new Google logo - last updated in 2010 - features the vogue flat design and removed shadowing, favoured by the aforementioned Yahoo! and Bing, as well as the style of Apple's new iOS7.
