Micro-blogging social network Twitter has released their list of the best marketing campaigns used on its platform over the last year, with mobile rebrand Everything Everywhere taking top spot as the most successful example of Twitter advertising.
The site, which boasts 175 million registered users and an active 10 million in the UK alone, has seen a push on their advertising and marketing features in 2012, including the use of hashtags and promoted trends, experiencing a surge of popularity with brands and the digital agencies - such as heavyweights MEC, Mannigoettlieb, OMD, Carat and MediaCom - responsible for creating the campaigns.

Speaking to Marketing Magazine, Bruce Daisley, sales director of Twitter UK, said the list shows that there is a "massive spread" of brands, "illustrating that Twitter can work for a road set of advertising categories."

He added: "Some of the best performing campaigns were just great product news, with a great story told well, and they don’t have to be gimmicky."
The chart was compiled with a combination of analytical data including total engagements, reach and impressions.
